What To Wear To Wimbledon 2017

Off to Wimbledon and not sure what to wear? Take your style cue from the event’s best-dressed celebrity regulars – Kim Murray, Pippa Middleton and Katherine Jenkins – and find out how to put together the perfect Centre Court ensemble for the most prestigious tennis tournament of the year. Clue: it’s all in the floral dresses

The Inspiration

Kim Murray took on two summer trends at once for last year’s Wimbledon tournament, opting for a white (tick) shift dress from Ted Baker, patterned with soft, watercolour flowers (tick). Pippa Middleton also made a case for floral fashion in a lilac-hued Beautiful Soul London dress with a ruffled neckline, while Katherine Jenkins stepped out in a crimson Issa maxi, patterned with abstract white blooms.

1. Floor-Sweeping Florals

Sabina Floral Maxi Dress, £89 | Sophie Shopper Bag, £39 | Norah Jewel Sandals, £39

A floor-sweeping maxi dress is a summer event season favourite. Flattering, feminine and delivering just the right amount of coverage, this navy floral-print number is designed with ruffles for an SS17-approved update.  Style it with a navy shopper bag (perfectly-sized for all those Wimbledon essentials), and flat, jewelled sandals that will keep you comfortably on your feet right until the last match point.

2. Ditsy Blooms

Blossom Pleated Midi Dress, £119 | Esmerelda Sparkle Clutch, £25 | Simone Block Heel Sandals, £45

This Wimbledon-approved midi dress is perfect for the courtside. Combining ditsy floral prints with pleats, and a pink-and-purple colour palette, this feminine piece offers an innately modern take on the trend. Pair it with a silver metallic clutch bag and matching block-heeled sandals for an ultra-chic finish.

3. Bold Botanicals

Sabina Frill Sleeve Tunic Dress, £65 | Medea Saddle Bag, £59 | Taylor Lace Up Heel, £59

Want to wear a mini dress to Wimbledon? The key is to opt for a long-sleeved style to create a demure yet effortlessly elegant look. Patterned with bold botanical prints, this hot pink piece features statement frill sleeves that are everywhere for SS17. Team it with block-heeled navy sandals for a leg-lengthening effect, and co-ordinate with a tonal across-body bag.
