We’re on a journey back to the roots of our brand, to the locations that first inspired us when we set up our stall in the 1970s. This autumn, we’re revisiting the very place Monsoon started. Welcome to Chapter Four – Portobello. .. 

Rows of colourful town houses, the hustle and bustle of market traders as they set up their stalls, antiques and trinkets laid out for all to browse. Where else would we be, but Portobello market? 

We’re taking it back to where our founder first started trading, fresh from travelling the world, in the 1970s. Here we’re met with the same energy, electricity and extravagance of that decade but now with new creators, new artisans, new stories.  

Welcome to Portobello, the next chapter in Monsoon’s Back to Origin series. Delve into the new collection, discover new makers as they, much like us, create a legacy of style through combining traditional crafts with modern materials.

Over the next few weeks, expect to learn more about the makers who make Portobello the vibrant hub of creativity that it is, listen to a Portobello-inspired playlist, shop new-in clothing that’s rich in colour and bold in spirit, and travel with Monsoon back to our origin. As creator Chloe Alberry says, Portobello still has the “unique quirky friendly feel” it once had.
