Meet the Artisan

Razia, 25, is the artisan behind our Beatrice bridal dress. She’s been married to Adnan, a subcontractor at one of our suppliers, for a year and a half, and the couple have one son together. Her usual routine includes making breakfast for her family, cleaning their home and taking care of their little one before taking on embellishment work for two to three hours a day. After that, she likes to goes for a walk and grocery shopping with her sister-in-law Sumaira, 18, who attends the local high school. Adnan told us that Razia is very kind-hearted and loves his family as if they were her own. In turn, Razia is incredibly proud of her husband’s entrepreneurial skills and his efforts to bring embellishment work from the cities to rural communities and help generate sources of income for local people. Both Razia and Adnan want their son to grow up fearless and confident, and hope that’ll run his own company one day.

2. The Augusta Gown

Made with the modern boho bride in mind, our Augusta wedding gown is lavishly hand-embellished with lustrous pearls and beads. Its sleek silhouette is further detailed with a tapered neckline, a tucked waist and a side split on the skirt, creating a wonderfully flattering fit. The keyhole back detail is perfect for brides with shorter hair or those who are opting for an up-do on the big day.

3. The Charlotte Gown

Vintage glamour comes easy with our Charlotte bridal dress, artfully hand-embellished with scores of beads and light-catching sequins in geometric lines. Its long sleeves and plunge-neck insert are left unlined for a beautifully sheer look, while its simple silhouette feels irresistibly chic. 4. The Diana Gown

Hand-embellished by artisans, our Diana wedding dress is covered from top to toe in a wondrous display of beads and sparkling sequins. Adding a touch of bohemian glamour to sleek city weddings, this full-length gown comes with a side-split skirt and a cutaway neckline for a contemporary finish.

The Monsoon Accessorize Product Supply Chain

Here at Monsoon, we take responsibility for our product supply chain. We map subcontractor sites beyond our factories and keep a record of the artisans associated with them. Each worker is required to fill out reference forms with their details, as well as those of their family members. They’re asked to affix a passport-sized photo of him or herself onto the form, and submit a proof of identification. 

We’ve also introduced worker handbooks where artisans can track the number of pieces they’ve worked on and, in turn, keep a record of their wages. Upon payment from the subcontractor, each artisan then signs these handbooks. This helps create transparency in the supply chain by letting us know who is making our clothes, and allowing us to make sure that everyone has been fully paid.

To enter, participants must like and comment on the designated Instagram Post to win.

By submitting an Entry, you will be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.

The competition opens at 17:00 BST on the 1st March 2019. The closing date for all Entries is 23:59 GMT on the 4th March 2019.

Only one Entry per person is permitted.

A winner will be selected at random from all valid Entries. The result of the draw shall be final.

The winners will be notified via Instagram PM by the 4th March 2019.

If the winner fails to respond to the Instagram PM by the 14th March 2019, they will be disqualified from the draw and the Entry shall be void. The Promoter reserves the right to award the Prize to an alternate winner, drawn at random from the remaining entries.

Only those aged 18 and over and resident in the United Kingdom are eligible to enter the competition.

The Prize is not transferable, and no cash alternative will be given.
