Eid celebrations are just around the corner, and with things opening up more and more, we wanted to speak to Basma Kahie about what she will be doing to celebrate this year and what it means to her.

How are you celebrating Eid this year?

Eid-ul-Adha is a very important festival for Muslims across the world. So, there’s no doubt that I will be spending my time celebrating and enjoying delicious food with close family and friends at my mum’s garden party she hosts every year.

What occasion piece have you chosen to wear from the Monsoon collection and what do you love about it?

I will be wearing an Abaya which is a traditional Islamic dress for the morning prayer at the mosque.

I also love doing a bit of colour co-ordinating with my girls. So, I have decided that my second outfit will be the pink Cameia satin dress from Monsoon. My daughters will be wearing their matching Aztec frill dresses also from Monsoon which look perfect for the occasion.

How have you found the easing of restrictions, and the planning of celebrations in comparison to last year?

Last year’s Eid celebrations were muted due to lockdown restrictions so not much planning went into it which was very out of the ordinary.

Like many celebrations, Eid is a time that brings friends and family together so I’m very glad that we’re able to do that this year.
